Release: John Barrow Announces $340,000 in Campaign Contributions in Four Months
Athens, Ga. — John Barrow announced today that his campaign for Georgia Secretary of State has received more than $340,000 in contributions in the first four months.
“I’m grateful for the support of friends and neighbors as we stand us this campaign to protect the right to vote, making it easier to do business and create jobs, protect retirement accounts from the abuses on Wall Street, and prevent professional fraud,” said Barrow. “This campaign has taken us all over the state: from Columbus to Augusta, Rome to Savannah, and Athens to Atlanta to Macon. We have the momentum needed to propel us to victory in May and in November.”
John is a former Athens-Clarke County commissioner and a former U.S. congressman representing eastern and southeastern Georgia. A Democrat, John is known for his bipartisan record bringing jobs to Georgia, holding down taxes, and supporting access to quality health care for all Georgians.
The responsibilities of the Georgia Secretary of State include the administration of secure, accessible, and fair elections; registration of corporations; regulation of charities and securities; and oversight of professional license holders. The election for the 28th Georgia Secretary of State will be held November 6, 2018.
